Job Description 

Onyx Government Service is seeking an Sr. Enterprise Data Analyst with SAS/ Tableau experience to support Federal data management and Advanced Analytics projects. This individual will be responsible for creating reports and dashboards, querying databases, Data Quality assurance, and ETL support. 

The Sr. Enterprise Data Analyst will join our team as one of the senior SAS/ Tableau developers for a data-warehousing project to solve business intelligence challenges. The position requires deep technical expertise in SQL, BI tools, ETL, and data profiling. The ideal candidate will have an active BI or NACLC Public Trust security clearance, be a confident leader experienced in performing day-to-day tasks, a critical thinker and self-starter who takes ownership of assignments 

Previous consulting experience using an agile delivery methodology is a plus. 

Required Experience/Qualifications: 

Security Clearance:     Must possess active BI or NACLC Public Trust security clearance 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of Business Intelligence development, or data processing/analytical experience or combination thereof. 

  • At least 5 years of work experience in analytical role 

  • Extensive experience with SAS development, including the use of SAS/Macro, Data Step, and SAS/Access. Experience of Enterprise Guide and Enterprise Miner / SAS Data Mining procedures a plus. 

  • Strong SQL skills and Tableau development experience 

  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and decision-making skills 

  • Ability to work as a collaborative team, mentoring and training the client on the various tools and techniques to build a complete Analytics solution 

  • Experience with Jira in managing tasks and good understanding of Agile process 

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and take the initiative to learn new tools quickly 

  • Must have good communication and writing skills 

  • Leadership qualities, with forward thinking.  Be able to show the future and benefits of analytics activities to the client 

Desired Experience/Qualifications: 

  • Extensive experience in Tableau dashboard design and development 

  • Quality assurance and validation experience, specifically comparing multiple data sources for discrepancies and inconsistencies 

Responsibilities: 

  • Extract data from a variety of sources, such as relational database, EDW and Foundry for use in analysis 

  • Engage with operational business stakeholders to identify key initiatives and execute solutions to business problems using data analysis and advanced analytics 

  • Perform quality assurance of reporting and dashboard deliverables to ensure quality of both data and analysis 

  • Work collaboratively to align business requirements with data and analytical solutions while empowering business to draw insights and analyze data while Identify areas of concern of as-is processes and business dependencies 

  • Coordinating and facilitating requirement gathering, playing an active role in the discovery, analysis, value validation, design, and testing phases. Ideate with functional analysts and business process owners 

  • Monitors changes in business, making recommendations where analytics can further improve business 

  • Create Tableau related Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) 

  • Document development for peer reference and knowledge transfer
